NURSING INSTRUCTOR Application Deadline is Thursday February 4, 2010 at 4:00pm Location: 1245 E. Buckeye Road, Phoenix, AZ 85034 Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Salary: $41,712 to $49,533 DOE plus stipend JOB DESCRIPTION: To consistently deliver high quality training that prepares students for jobs in industry, to ensure curriculum is current with industry standards, to work with professional organizations associated with the relevant area of instruction, to perpetually improve instructional methodology, to develop curriculum, assess student learning and participate in program reviews. Attend various center and or District meetings; act as a resource on applicable program advisory councils. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Instructs students in the use of proper techniques and procedures in a specific skill area with the goal being the students’ reaching the prescribed competencies; reviews student work and evaluates progress; identifies problems and makes recommendations regarding the ability of students to reach the competencies. Keeps current and accurate records of students’ progress and attendance in the fashion prescribed by MSC. Actively participates in the curricular development process. Responds to requests for student information in an effective and timely fashion. Determines resources and materials needed to meet course requirements and requisitions them as needed while working within established budget. Continually develops and refines syllabi and lesson plans so that student success and preparedness for work are improved. Works within established department budgets. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be a degree or certificate in the instructional subject area, teaching or related work experience. Nursing Instructor requires Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a current Arizona RN License in good standing. Minimum 3 years* of full time teaching experience in the subject area/program to be taught. *(part time teaching experience considered at a 30 to 1 month ratio for full time equivalent experience) DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with:
