ABOUT THE NURSING PROGRAM

Unlike our other training programs, the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program requires that you apply to the program before you can begin training.  All steps for enrollment are outlined below.

ENROLLMENT STEPS

PRACTICAL NURSING CERTIFICATE

The Practical Nursing Program prepares individuals to be skilled healthcare workers who provide hands-on care including physical data collection, medication administration, wound care, and patient teaching under the supervision of a registered nurse or a physician.  The Maricopa Skill Center Practical Nursing program prepares graduates to take the national certification exam known as the NCLEX-PN to obtain licensure to practice as a LPN.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Licensed Practical Nurse; Clinic Nurse; Office Nurse; Hospital Staff Nurse; Skilled Nursing Facility Staff Nurse.

Entry Requirement: Applicants must complete the online information session, complete the Nursing Packet, pass the NET test with 50 or higher in math, and 60 or higher in reading, prior to being placed on the candidate list. 

Schedule: Clinicals can be Thursday - Sunday between 6:00am & 8:00pm

Attendance Requirement: A minimum of 25 hours per week.
