ABOUT THE NURSING PROGRAMUnlike our other training programs, the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program requires that you apply to the program before you can begin training. All steps for enrollment are outlined below. We are currently accepting applications for our February 19, 2010 start date. Check back for updates on future start dates. ENROLLMENT STEPS1. TAKE THE NURSING ENTRANCE TEST. Please arrange to take the Nursing Entrance Test (NET) at one of the Maricopa County Community Colleges. Download information about the test and location sites/dates here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader): NET INFO MSC requires a NET minimum score of 50 in math and 60 in reading. 2. REVIEW THE TUTORIAL AND TAKE THE QUIZ. Candidates for the LPN program are required to download and review the LPN Tutorial. The tutorial goes over the details of the LPN Program at Maricopa Skill Center. After reviewing the tutorial, candidates will take a quiz which will be required to complete the application packet. DOWNLOAD THE TUTORIAL (Requires Adobe Reader) (Requires Adobe Reader) 3. COMPLETE THE LPN APPLICATION PACKET. Download the application here. 4. SUBMIT YOUR NET SCORES, QUIZ, AND APPLICATION PACKET. Only candidates who complete the NET with the required scores AND have successfully completed the quiz will be considered for the LPN Program. Submit your application to Maricopa Skill Center's Office of Admissions & Records. PLEASE NOTE: Completed application packets are accepted Tuesdays from 9am to 11am ONLY. PRACTICAL NURSING CERTIFICATEThe Practical Nursing Program prepares individuals to be skilled healthcare workers who provide hands-on care including physical data collection, medication administration, wound care, and patient teaching under the supervision of a registered nurse or a physician. The Maricopa Skill Center Practical Nursing program prepares graduates to take the national certification exam known as the NCLEX-PN to obtain licensure to practice as a LPN. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
